Claflin Medical Equipment (CME) is a national equipment company that provides personalized support and service including: a knowledgeable, accessible sales team, a wide array of products, adaptable logistics, BioMed services and delivery assistance. Choosing, procuring, tracking, storing, staging, assembling, delivering, testing and installing the right equipment on time can be daunting and time-consuming for most hospitals and hospital systems. CME becomes part of the project management team and can help lower the overall costs associated with equipment and product procurement for any new facility, expansion or remodel as follows:

• One PO is all we need
o CME supplies all products needed to open a new facility including exam room furniture, appliances, diagnostic equipment, IT equipment and accessories, and PT items

• Single chain of custody
o CME is responsible for the product from PO generation until it is placed in your new or remodeled facility assembled and trash removed. One call is all you need to make

• Use of our 32 service centers located across the country
o We receive, store, stage, assemble, deliver, test and install all of your product so no need to rent extra space or use your already busy staff

• Project is delivered on time
o Your new facility opens on time every time

At a time when the education/ experiential needs of biomedical equipment techs is greatest, we also find a shortage of qualified candidates to fill these positions -- which are growing in number and responsibility. This situation is a detriment to all stakeholders in the industry -- from private vendors like CME to healthcare institutions, and ultimately patients who rely on lifesaving equipment. In projecting solutions to meet the needs of its clients, in 2015 CME partnered with the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), Year Up, the Department of Labor and Training and Governor Gina Raimondo (Real Jobs RI) to launch the first non-traditional apprenticeship program, of any kind, in Rhode Island. Through this 3-year apprenticeship, CME trains several economically disadvantaged, but extremely motivated young people per year in the newest methods to install, service and repair biomedical equipment. In doing so, CME has created a career pathway which is filling a growing industry need and creating new economic opportunities for Rhode Island workers. In the words of one of our apprentices, “I finally understand the difference between a job and a career.”

CME - we are dedicated to providing quality equipment, logistics and services to Healthcare.
